Degree Audit Update
By Tracy R. Jones, Assistant Dean, College of Graduate Studies
Thank you for your time, input and patience with us as the university moves from SASS to DARS for our degree audit system. We encourage you to print and review all of your audits for those students that are graduating in December to ensure that all of the data converted to the new system correctly. There are data conversion issues and we need time to research and resolve them with the help of computer services and sometimes outside consultants. If you find any errors, please contact Dore Carter as soon as possible at dmcarter@mail.ucf.edu for help in resolving the issues.
Since the new system is live, students can now run “what-if” audits. This functionality is designed to assist those who may be considering applying to a different program. The "what-if" degree audit option does not take into consideration transfer credit minimums between programs so students who are considering changing programs should be sure to get appropriate advising by the new program before making any decisions.
There are many future projects that we will be working on with the new degree audit system. In January, we will begin working on the interactive part of the audit. This piece displays the audit with charts and graphs for a more visually appealing representation of degree progress.
If you have more questions about the audit or need training, please contact Dore. A training guide can be found here for the parts of the degree audit that are currently live.
